Au cours des manifestations de 2022, l’Autorité de régulation des communications a mis à profit le contrôle qu’elle exerce sur l’accès à internet et sur les téléphones portables pour suivre les manifestants à la trace et créer un tableau détaillé des activités des dissidents et des manifestants, que les autorités ont utilisé comme elles l’entendaient. L’Autorité de régulation des communications est donc responsable d’avoir soutenu la répression exercée contre des manifestants pacifiques, des journalistes, des défenseurs des droits de l’homme, des étudiants et d’autres personnes qui s’expriment pour défendre leurs droits légitimes. L’Autorité de régulation des communications est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme en Iran.
