Polski oddział jest wyłącznym importerem na teren RP rosyjskiego węgla wydobywanego przez koncern SUEK. Do chwili objęcia sankcjami 92% udziałów JSC SUEK należało do jego założyciela - Andrieja Melniczenki. Wymieniony, w dniu objęcia go sankcjami UE, zrezygnował oficjalnie z funkcji i udziałów w SUEK. Od 21.03.2022 r. jako beneficjent rzeczywisty polskiej spółki wskazywana jest Aleksandra Melniczenko – żona Andrieja Melniczenki. Andriej Melnichenko należy do kręgu najbardziej wpływowych rosyjskich przedsiębiorców, posiadających ścisłe związki z rządem Rosji. Jest zaangażowany w sektory stanowiące największe źródła przychodów dla rządu Federacji Rosyjskiej, który jest odpowiedzialny za aneksję Krymu oraz agresję przeciwko Ukrainie. Andriej Melniczenko objęty jest sankcjami na podstawie rozporządzenia Rady (UE) nr 269/2014, zał. I, poz. 721. Rosyjska spółka SUEK JSC, poprzez sieć powiązanych ze sobą spółek z grupy SUEK AG, w tym SUEK Polska sp. z o.o., w 2020 r. osiągnęła przychód w wysokości 7 798 936 014 PLN. Naliczony od ww. kwoty podatek dochodowy wyniósł 241 028 568 PLN, czym zasilił budżet FR. Polska spółka SUEK POLSKA Sp. z o. o. wytransferowała do szwajcarskiej spółki SUEK AG kwotę ok. 361 551 496 PLN, co mogło przyczynić się do zwiększenia przychodu rosyjskiego podmiotu JSC SUEK. Wymieniony jest obłożony sankcjami: Ukrainy, Unii Europejskiej, Wielkiej Brytanii. Nałożenie sankcji na spółkę SUEK Polska Sp. z o.o. przyczyni się do zmniejszenia przychodów wymienionej firmy oraz podmiotów osiągających korzyści z jej działalności, a tym samym pośrednio wpłynie na zmniejszenie przychodów budżetu Federacji Rosyjskiej, z którego finansowana jest agresja przeciwko Ukrainie
